There’s nothing better than an amazing vegan bowl—perfectly balanced in protein, healthy carbs and fats, and calories—to get you on the right path. The goal is to be satisfied with a hearty, delicious meal, packed in vitamins, minerals, antioxidant compounds, and macros, with a modest amount of calories to help maintain healthy weight goals.
That’s why I recommend 500 calorie meals as a great way to promote healthy weight, as it’s enough to keep most people fueled and feeling energetic, while still moderating your calorie intake for a healthy weight. At the same time, it’s important to push up the clean, whole plant ingredients in power-packed vegan bowls, which include plenty of real whole grains, pulses (beans), soy foods, fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, plant fats, herbs, and spices. We also want to limit those unwanted ingredients, such as added sugars, sodium, and additives.
