A Review Of The Monroe House Executive Guest Suites In St. John’s

While visiting the City of St. John’s in Newfoundland – 🍁 Canada, we had the distinct pleasure of staying at the – Historic Monroe House Executive Guest Suites.

Ideally situated in the heart of ⚓ St. John’s, this beautifully restored Executive Home, has you taking a step back in time.

Once the home of Former Newfoundland’s Prime Minister – Walter Stanley Monroe in the early 1920’s, this luxurious residence is now a lovely and completely refurbished 🏡 Boutique Hotel.

The Monroe House – Location

You couldn’t ask for a better location to stay when visiting St. John’s. The home is situated on a quiet residential street in the historic district of the city.

This beautiful 🌳 treed residential street of Forest Road, is lined with other lovely historic homes from years past.

You’re also just minutes 🚶 walking distance from St. John’s scenic waterfront and business district.

There’s shopping and restaurants galore to choose from, all within a few steps away from 🏡 Monroe House.

As well, popular attractions including; The Battery district and Signal Hill National Historic Site, are just minutes away by 🚗 car.

All of this combined, make the Monroe House simply ideal for both business and pleasure travelers.

The Monroe House Offering Luxurious Premium Suites

Guests have 7 distinctly unique suites to choose from, with a variety of 🛌 bed options.

Each room has been tastefully decorated, with original works from the finest artists in Newfoundland.

As well, the owner has meticulously added unique antique furnishings, personally chosen from various places around the world. 🗺

When you step into this beautifully restored home and its guest rooms, you feel like you’ve actually taken a step back in time!

The Philip Francis Little Suite

Our upper floor room was simply amazing!

This is an absolutely huge room complete with dining table, 2 queen beds, Newfoundland tartan stepping stool and a pullout couch.

The beautiful antique dresser in this room we were told, is original to the Monroe House.

The guest bath was spotless and included a shower with jacuzzi tub. Along with all the amenities and more, one would expect in a luxurious guest room.

All rooms and suites in the Monroe House include;

• ✔ Full private bathrooms (some with jacuzzis);
  ✔ Crystal chandeliers;
  ✔ Flat screen television and DVD player;
  ✔ iPod dock;
  ✔ Air conditioning units;
  ✔ Refrigerator;
  ✔ Coffee percolator;
  ✔ Iron with ironing board;
  ✔ Locally hand-sewn linens and lavish bedding and more.

Complimentary in room 📶 wi-fi is also included, and our service was excellent during our stay.

Monroe House Common Areas

Guest are invited to enjoy the – Common Areas in the home during their stay as well.

You have full access to the main kitchen, which is located on the main floor of the home.

Guests should be aware, that this is not a Bed & Breakfast accommodation.

You are however, invited to use the kitchen facilities during your stay, but to be courteous of others guests at the same time.

You are asked to clean up after you’re done using the kitchen and dining room, so other guests can enjoy and use the facilities as well.

Also located on the main floor, is a lovely den/lounge area for you to sit and relax in.

A is just another beautifully appointed room, equipped with a bar and small business area.

There are also sitting areas located on the upper floors of the home as well, for all guests to enjoy.

“Combined with an on-site meeting room and catering service available, the Monroe House perfectly combines the functionality of a productive business meeting environment, along with fine luxury accommodations all in one. Meeting facilities can accommodate up to 25 people if needed.“

My wife and I had a lovely 2 night stay and had a difficult time leaving this beautiful home.
